 Speaking From the Heart...

If you are looking for a good communicator who can bring warmth, humor, insight and inspiration as a speaker, then Karen is someone to consider for your next meeting or gathering. Karen presents to her audience a message of challenge, encouragement, and hope.

Karen has worked as a teacher, a sales representative, and a florist (owning and operating her own floral business for six years). She graduated from Ohio State University in 1969 with a B.S. in Art Education and has also completed a Paralegal Studies course at Cuyahoga Community College. Her volunteer jobs over the years have involved her in numerous school, church, and community projects.

Karen’s enthusiastic and up-beat attitude is encouraging, challenging, and motivating. A prodigal child, a developmentally handicapped son, and personal tragedies have challenged her own life. Those challenges have taught her to look to God for strength and hope.

Today, in addition to her family, Karen dedicates her time to writing and speaking. Over 200 of her articles and essays have appeared in such publications as Standard, Seek, The Plain Dealer Sunday Magazine, Porthole, Over the Back Fence and Lake Erie Living. She is the grandparenting columnist at PositivelyFeminine.org. Her first novel, Divide the Child, was published in 1999. She has contributed to three other books, Impact (NPH), The Bad Hair Day Book and Ho Ho Ho  (2006). Her most recent coauthored book is A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts (Leafwood Publishers, 2009).
